Cape Town taxpayers were complaining about a lack of service from the Sourth African Revenue Service on Monday after hundreds of people were reportedly turned away from the SARS offices on the foreshore.
More than 600 locals were initially allowed into the building, but many were not attended to after being told officials could not deal with the large numbers.
One outraged taxpayer said he had been trying to file his tax return for two days.
“It’s my second time I’m coming here… I think it’s unfair.”
The tax season got underway at the start of July.
Individual taxpayers have until September 30th to submit their returns by post.

In trying to get my Tax number from SARS yesterday and a few days before I was on the line for more than an hour because, I think, there were many people making queries as far as their tax returns were concerned.
The telephone service is very time consuming and costs money too: having to way as number 13 on the line while other customers are attended to costs a lot of oney.
