Governance
The Taxpayers’ Foundation demands the highest levels of integrity from those in positions of authority. As such the Taxpayers’ Foundation has adopted a strong governance framework starting with our Constitution (available here) which requires that the organisation annually present audited financial statements to its members, invite members to AGM’s and even allow members the opportunity to call General Meetings should they wish.
As noted in the Taxpayers’ Foundation Constitution, various books and records are also available for inspection by members on their request and under certain conditions. The Constitution also explicitly states that the Taxpayers’ Foundation will not be for the profit of its members or those in any position of authority (the latter of which are all working on a volunteer basis). As an additional precaution, the Board has been structured to allow non-executive directors for oversight. As can be seen from the above, transparency is central to our governance plan.
Furthermore, a strong system of internal controls has been implemented within the Taxpayers’ Foundation that will also be subject to audit review.
